NAPA Design Solutions team develops ship design software. Our 3D modeling and design functionalities are the most powerful, making the ship design process the best. Built-in development and customizable capabilities enable users to automate repetitive tasks and include user-specific ship design know-how in the system. The largest shipyards in the world use our software.

The team is now looking for a DevOps Engineer that makes sure software is delivered to customers quickly and reliably. In this role, you also promote, educate and develop DevOps practice across the global organization. The role is full-time and permanent.

The role and your NAPA Family – how is it?

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for overseeing the continuous integration and deployment of software code. You also ensure that code is built, tested, and deployed reliably and efficiently. You will guide and mentor development team members.

In this role, you will work in DevOps/IT operations team and closely with NAPA’s software development teams across the globe. Your first project would be Atlassian migration to the cloud. The project has already been designed and started, and your participation in the project depends on when you join the team. The following tools will be migrated: BitBucket, Confluence, JIRA, and the build system (Bamboo -> TeamCity).

The daily tasks can be modified inside the team and according to the team members’ interests and experience. Some of the tasks are:

• maintaining and administrating build infrastructure (build servers, agents)
• updating and improving JIRA workflows
• triggering Windows group policies

Here are some of the other tools and technologies we currently use:

Git, testing frameworks, coverage tools, SonarQube, and SCA (software composition analysis) tools.

Your home base is our office in Ruoholahti, Helsinki (Finland), but you can also work in hybrid mode. We speak English in all our locations.

• have a software development background
• are familiar with scripting
• have strong organization and communication skills
• have good oral and written English skills

It would be an advantage if you would also:

• understand compilers and linkers
• have experience with our current tools and technologies or their equivalents
