Technical Consultant
NAPA Design Solutions is looking for a Technical Consultant to support both our existing and new Naval Architecture customers. Our clients operate in the global shipbuilding and maritime industry.
The role and your team:
You are a member of NAPA Design Solutions Europe Services team which is part of the amazing global Services team. All team members are Naval Architects and/or Structural Designers by education and thus have an excellent understanding of our customers’ problems and needs.
You provide technical support for NAPA software solutions for ship design, that consists of providing answers to our customers’ questions regarding our ship design software solutions and also helping them overcome any encountered ship design-related problems. You also create training materials and give user trainings for customers either at NAPA’s or our customer’s offices. In order to support our customers best and to ensure our long-lasting customer relationships continue, you work in close cooperation with Sales and Software Development teams. The role is permanent and full-time, and your home base can be our office in Helsinki, Finland or Galati, Romania.
Are you our ideal candidate?
You could be a good fit for this role if you have:
- More than two years of work experience performing ship stability analyses (especially Damage Stability) by using NAPA
- MSc or BSc in Science or some other domain related to our focus (e.g. Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture)
- Ability to work independently in close cooperation with other team members
- Customer-oriented mindset
It would be a bonus if you also had:
- Stability rules knowledge
- Basic programming skills
- Previous experience in customer service work
- Experience with CAD/CAE systems
- Experience with other NAPA products
- Experience in a design office or shipyard
We hope you also have excellent teaching skills and want to take the initiative and responsibility for your work. At NAPA, our working language is English, so you must have fluent written and spoken English skills. We also expect you to be eligible to work in Finland or Romania.

The first part of our recruitment process is a small technical assignment. Be prepared to receive the assignment via email at the latest after the application period ends. You can do the assignment at home, and it consists of using NAPA for a specific task and writing a short report about it. The assignment will take approximately 3-5 hours. You won’t have to complete the assignment in one sitting but can divide the work into multiple days. We will provide everything needed for you to be able to do the assignment.
