Sales Manager, North America
We are looking for an energetic, goal-oriented sales professional to join our global team of experts and elevate NAPA Design Solutions’ business in North America to the next level. This position offers a prime opportunity to support the North American shipbuilding industry by improving efficiency, productivity, and competitive edge through the introduction of NAPA’s leading software solutions. You will lead the business growth of NAPA’s Design Solutions in North America by maximizing customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
You will work closely with our global sales and support teams, as well as with product development and marketing, who are committed to supporting your success in this role. You will also collaborate with our partners to deliver innovative integrated digital solutions to the market.
NAPA’s proven solutions are widely used in the global ship design, classification, and life-cycle management processes by over 400 organizations. Companies ranging from shipyards to engineering offices, classification societies, shipowners, and research institutes are typical end users of our solutions. Our 3D model-based software excels in the conceptual and basic design phases, where design variations are frequent and flexibility is needed to achieve a competitive design. Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a sales strategy for the American territory to secure short- and long-term revenue targets.
- Continuously demonstrate value to customers by developing a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders and executive sponsors.
- Drive lead generation together with product marketing and subject matter experts by constantly communicating the benefits of NAPA products and addressing industry challenges in digital channels and live events.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by coordinating technical support activities and implementation projects.
- Lead contract negotiations, prepare quotations, and revenue projections according to the lead-to-customer process.
- Cooperate and provide feedback to product management, product development, and services operations to address client needs.
Preferred qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a commercial environment in the maritime industry.
- Strong business sense and a proven track record of results with customers.
- Experience and proven track record in sales work, preferably in digital solutions.
- Prior experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs.
- Existing contact network in the North American shipbuilding market and the ability to expand NAPA’s existing contact base.
- Demonstrated leadership showing strong accountability, ownership, and the ability to effectively lead a team of experts in pursuit of shared goals in a self-managed organization.
- Ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with a passion for learning new things.
- Experience in the CAD/CAE software business or in ship design is seen as an advantage.
- Relevant education, such as a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering or Naval Architecture.
