We are now looking for a talented individual to join the development team for our NAPA Steel ship design product. As a Senior Software Developer you will work hands-on with both desktop-side code and cloud APIs, evaluate technical alternatives, and turn findings into production-ready solutions. One of the first main responsibilities in this role will be the development of a novel and innovative solution that seamlessly integrates structural modeling and structural assessment. You will work as a member of NAPA Design entity Structural assessment team in close co-operation with our key customers.
This position is in Helsinki (Ruoholahti), Finland. We prefer a candidate who can work in hybrid mode and visit our office regularly.
Key responsibilities in this role
Development for a novel, integrated prescriptive assessment solution
Design and implement WPF user interfaces
Build reusable UI components and controls
Apply and maintain MVVM patterns
Integration of UI to third-party APIs
Collaborate with UX/design stakeholders
Research, design, and implement integrations between an existing desktop application and modern cloud services
Collaborate with product, security, and infrastructure stakeholders
Stay up to date with software development trends to improve product quality
Document architectural decisions and integration approaches
Work closely with the development team and be open to aspiring for a leadership role in the team

What are we looking for?
To succeed in this role, you bring solid experience in software development, strong technical skills across desktop and cloud technologies, and the ability to work hands-on in a complex, engineering‑focused product environment.
Formal educational degree in Computer Science, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or relevant field
5+ years of experience with hands on programming
Solid development skills and proficiency in C#, Java, C++
Experience in full stack desktop application development (Windows)
Proficiency in WPF, XAML (Styles, Templates, Resource dictionaries), data binding, commands, converters, MVVM pattern
Experience in cloud development and knowledge in related technologies
Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub, Copilot, ChatGPT, code generation and refactoring tools)
We expect strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, as we work in global teams and closely with customers around the world. You should have good teamwork and collaboration skills to support effective cooperation across our international environment.
