Director of New Business - Cruise
NAPA Safety Solutions provides industry-leading digital solutions for enhancing the safety and efficiency of ship operations, with a strong focus on the passenger ship segment. Our products are trusted by over 10,000 users onboard the global fleet of international cruise ships.
We are now looking for a strategic and commercially driven Director of New Business – Cruise to join our global team of experts and lead the new business initiatives of our cruise segment. This role focuses especially on the hotel operations onboard cruise ships, including passenger accommodation, hospitality services, and the digital optimization of the guest experience.
This is a high-impact leadership role with full P&L responsibility, focused on expanding our market presence, building strategic partnerships, and delivering long-term revenue and margin growth.
You will be part of a global sales and business development team and work closely with leading cruise clients and internal stakeholders. The role is based in either NAPA Germany (preferably in the Hamburg area but we are flexible), NAPA USA in Fort Lauderdale, or NAPA Finland in Helsinki. International travel to NAPA’s customers and other NAPA offices is required in this role.
What you will be doing
- Lead the development and execution of the strategic plan for new cruise business initiatives.
- Own full P&L accountability for the cruise new business segment, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Build and lead a high-performing team focused on identifying and securing new cruise business opportunities.
- Oversee lead generation, pipeline development, proposal creation, and deal negotiation.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with key cruise line customers and represent NAPA at C-level with clients and industry organizations (e.g., CLIA).
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to ensure scalable, market-aligned solutions.
- Act as a subject-matter expert on the cruise segment in internal planning and external presentations.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for a strategic and commercially driven professional with solid experience in business development, sales, and account management, preferably within the cruise or maritime hospitality sectors. Ideally, you have a background in e.g. cruise operations, either onboard or on the shoreside, for example as a Hotel Director, Captain or in another similar senior leadership role.
In addition, you have:
- Proven success in P&L ownership and delivering sustainable revenue growth.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Comfort working with C-level stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Strategic mindset with strong execution skills and a result-driven approach.
- Full professional proficiency in English; other languages are considered an asset.
